MAHALO for joining us Saturday, July 20, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 Moon landing. It was a wonderful event as evidenced by the following pictures.

Visitors flocked to see the moon rocks and a NASA exhibit at Gallery ‘Iolani, which included two Hawaiian flags that were placed on the lunar surface by the Apollo astronauts, brought back to Earth, and gifted to the people of Hawai‘i and watched over by The Royal Hawaiian Honor Guard.

And who could forget the Aerospace Exploration Lab with all those science toys. They may be low tech but they are a lot of fun for kids of all ages. (Photos courtesy of B. Beatson) |

Sure hope you dropped into the Apollo Theater to watch the original Moon landing footage in a vintage 1969 living room including "rabbit ears" on the television. (Photo courtesy K. Kellogg) | ||

Last but not least, hope you checked out the 1969 "time capsule" case outside the Aerospace Exploration Lab. (Photo courtesy K. Kellogg)
We had a fun time looking back at 1969 and celebrating, perhaps the greatest accomplishment of human history, but on to the future.
